Most of the popular Android games have involved running in one form or another. From Temple Run to Subway Surfer, the games offer the players a chance to take upon challenge after challenge. The difficulty level keeps increasing with each level and that keeps the players hooked. There is always a change required though as you simply can't keep playing the same game again and again. If you are looking for a change of scenery, music, and characters but want to play a game which has a similar theme then Jungle Castle Run seems a viable option. The running game gives you the opportunity to tackle obstacles and keep running till you reach your destination in the game.
Jungle Castle Run is a very lightweight application. The app doesn't require much space and once you would download and install it, you would realize the reason why it is so lightweight. The app has a very simple design and has easy to understand features. The app's home offers you the opportunity to start playing the running game with one touch. The other options include muting the app's soundtrack and checking the leaderboard. There is also a great help section that lets you in on all the controls as well as the in-game features the app has to offer.
The running game has three main levels namely 'Beginning', 'Evolution' and 'Experience'. Each level basically has a certain level of difficulty attached to it in each round. Any player who is just starting the game should start at the Beginner level where each round is simple and easy and only has a few obstacles in each course. However, even in Beginner level, as you start to complete more rounds, the levels start becoming tougher and longer. There are over 1000 levels in 'Beginning, 'Evolution' and 'Experience' combined and therefore, there is a lot of running to do in the game.
The in-game features are interesting as well. The main character is a boy who is required to keep running and to collect all the coins in the path to complete each level. There are four kinds of obstacles present in the game and if the boy collides with any of these obstacles, the level is restarted. The app's obstacle is a stone, a fireball, a chemical barrel and an animal. There is also a pit present in most levels, which is to be avoided as well. In all such cases, a tap makes the boy jump over the obstacle. The trick is to not tap too early or too late otherwise the boy would collide with the said obstacles and the level would be restarted. There is a speed zone section as well where the boy's speed increases and the speed zone's entrance is marked with a rabbit and its exit is marked with a turtle. There are also tiled leaves sections where the boy can jump higher if you tap exactly when the boy reaches the leaves.
The app's overall design is great but there is no real storyline while the soundtrack is too tense for a running game.
- Very easy to understand
- Clean interface and good design
- 1000+ levels to keep the players interested
- Good in-game controls to keep the game addictive
If you want a running game which has 1000+ levels, offers easy in-game controls and becomes challenging as it progresses, Jungle Castle Run would be a good choice. The only thing that is a bit disconcerting is the lack of any storyline for the app as to why the boy in the game is running. However, it's a minor flaw in a game which can prove a great time pass.
